Adding Machine Advertisements

The history of the adding machine is beautifully illustrated in the advertising of the leading companies in the industry.

There were changes in advertisement styles based on the year. The war years of the 1940's are the best example, and the 1960's use of color is another great example. There were also extreme differences between companies. The differences between Burroughs and Felt & Tarrant advertisement styles is an amazing contrast.

One of the benefits of studying advertisements for collectors is the ability to determine when specific models were first introduced. Because these advertisements were most often included in magazines, the date is usually known and is a wonderful indicator of when models and changes were introduced by the manufacturer.

I am offering a DVD with 1,300+ advertisements. 1,100+ are Burroughs related and the other 190+ are from other manufacturers. The files are JPG and some BMP and can be viewed with a media player or slideshow program on your computer. Please be aware, this collection is harvested from auctions and therefore the quality of the photo is not always the best, in fact some of the files are very difficult to read the detail. But, the files are interesting non-the-less and I have arranged them with the year in the file name so it is easy to reference.

If you would like a copy of the DVD, please email me and I will advise the address where you can send your payment. I do not accept Paypal or Credit Cards at this time, but a personal check or money order will be fine. I accept international orders providing we can arrange the payment method.
